Tag/Day 2.3 auf der/on QUEEN ELIZABETH in Le Havre, France

It's Tea-Time.

It was tea-time. We used the chances that it might be calm as many guests were ashore.

Everything was set already.

Alles bereits eingedeckt.

Beside standard tea you can order two more different teas.

Bruno sent a text message to Hans-Hermann and asked if we should block a seat for him.

But he was already on the way.

We had a background pianist.

Hans-Hermann used the chance to test his camera.

The service started but where was the ceremony.

Later someone explained that the ceremony was only on QUEEN ELIZABETH 2.

Bruno seemed to be happy with his sweet treat.

But first we had the hearty sandwiches.

Then they came with the sweet treats.

Dann kommen die süßen Leckerlis.

Und endlich kommen die Scones.

Finally the scones came.

I asked myself if the camera was unable to fix the problem with the background light: is it maybe counting the calories on the picture...

Never mind: we were on a British ship and tea-time is always part of it. No need to have it every day. It would be nice to have tier-plates.

I loved my cucumber sandwiches. But I was missing some with cress or chicken.

And my scones.

And correctly with some jam and clotted cream.

I got my darleeling tea which I asked for in small extra-pot - and this time made of China without burning my fingers.

We went to the Friends of Dorothy meeting in the Commodore Lounge. Somehow nobody here had a real passion to clean. You could see all the prints of the glasses and much more.

As they did not place a sign like on QUEEN MARY 2 I used my iPad to have a sign.

Today we had no pictures as we must first go step by step. But we found some nice ship models like this one showing Southampton as base port.

In the evening the dance in the Queen's Room started already.

We were lucky to have formal and elegant casual only so we must not carry one more suit with us for semi-formal (with suitable tie).

Through the library we went down.

It was as gorgeous as on QUEEN VICTORIA.

At short notice we decided to have dinner in The Verandah. We loved to be indulged nicely even it would cost additionally. Let us find out if this was better than Todd English on QUEEN MARY 2 or QUEEN VICTORIA. We informed our waiter that he should start with the service even we will not attend. So the other must not wait if we did not show up.

We let a professional take a picture of us.

And now Bruno had to take picture of the professional.
